Essencia's signature class which adds vigor to the pace of traditional Hatha. Don’t miss this upbeat feel-good class in a heated studio (90 degrees) while flowing, balancing, sculpting, detoxifying, and building strength. The heated room will loosen muscles, promote deeper stretches, and enhance flexibility. This class is suitable for all levels.
-
This class provides a physically-accessible movement experience while drawing upon foundational principles that have formed our understanding of the practice of yoga over the last 2000 years. Each week we’ll focus on a specific, time-tested principle so we can, over time, build a sustainable and well-rounded practice from the inside out. Expect references to early texts, pranayama, mindful movement, making what we learn on the mat relevant to our daily lives, small meditations, and some chanting. This class is open to open-minded beginners, seasoned practitioners, and everyone in between.
-
Our Hot 26 Yoga class is a dynamic, 90-minute practice designed to help you build strength, flexibility, and balance in both body and mind. This class consists of a series of 26 postures, practiced in a heated room (around 90°F or 32°C).
In this class, you will flow through each of the postures in a methodical sequence that engages every muscle group. The heat promotes deeper stretching and allows the body to release toxins through sweat. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned yogi, the Hot 26 class offers a challenging yet accessible experience for all levels.
-
A slower paced class that will stretch and strengthen, making it easy to follow along for any level yogi. Expect to hold postures longer (5-10 deep breaths). There will be an emphasis on getting into deep stretches and building strength. During class, we will work towards back-bending, deep hip opening, arm balances, and/or inversions. At the end of class, expect to practice breathing techniques. Bring a towel, water, and prepare to sweat.
-
Experience a profound sense of inner calm by taking time to sit in silence. With regular practice, meditation has the power to rewire your nervous system, leading to less reactivity and a more easeful orientation to life. We'll use a variety of tools to cultivate Witness Consciousness - the deepest part of you beneath physical sensations, your thoughts, and emotions - including gentle yoga poses, pranayama, visualization, and guided meditation. This class is appropriate for new and experienced practitioners.
-
This is a vigorous vinyasa flow class set to contemporary music. Open, cleanse, and energize through a series of postures systematically designed to improve strength, flexibility, and balance. We utilize controlled breathing, bandhas, and focused gaze to bring forth calm and stable states of concentration as we challenge ourselves within and between postures. Options to modify provided for all levels of practice.
-
A gentle and therapeutic practice induces complete relaxation of the mind and body by holding passive, supported poses for an extended length. Using props for support allows for deep release of tension in the physical body. An emphasis on conscious relaxation soothes the nervous system and calms the mind. Better than a good night's sleep, you will leave your mat with a deep sense of rejuvenation. Appropriate for students of all levels.
-
A series of postures, one flowing seamlessly into the next, uniting body, mind, and breath. A meditative, healing practice using passive, long-held floor poses. Yin yoga bypasses the muscles and allows you to nourish and strengthen the deeper tissues. Connective tissues, fascia, joints, ligaments, and bones receive gentle, low load stress. The poses are held between 2-5 minutes and the muscles stay passive in order to pass the benefits to the deeper tissues. Each Yin pose is an opportunity to go inward and find an appropriate balance of effort and ease. It is a wonderful complement to an active (Yang) practice and a much needed tool for anyone who needs to unwind a tight body, mind, or heart. Yin is suitable for all levels, including beginners.
-
